PHYNO’S PHYNOFEST 2017 – THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

While more than a few in the news seem to concentrate on the gist concerning who owns the original publishing rights, who published first, or who the original song writer (DeCarlo) credited with the authorized version of the song ‘I’m a fan’ published on Phyno’s ‘The Playmaker’ album and also released by Pia Mia, I decided to take a step back and concentrate on the positives relating to the much anticipated PhynoFest 2017. The countdown to one of the best one-day music festivals/concerts in this country has started and it will be lunacy not to talk about it.

Likened to the mounting anticipation for the world Cup, the level of preparation that goes into an event of that magnitude can be compared with those put into PhynoFest by the team in charge of the organization. I have taken part in several music related concerts in this country in the past fifteen years but none of those events were as interesting and successful in terms of the sheer size of the crowd that attended, the numbers of artistes that performed at the one night show, the sophisticated sound system and the fans feedback. PhynoFest 2016 was a blast and the earnest legion scattered all over the eastern region are impatiently anticipating the 2017event. I sometimes relive the last leg of this event staged in Enugu at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium popularly called the Cathedral; and in all honesty it really should be tagged one of the best shows of 2016. With several audiences travelling in from neighboring states, the stadium was so filled up; the city was practically shutdown. The countdown for the 2017 PhynoFest has begun, with interesting news filtering in from the organizers camp. Somehow, I am of the opinion that more records will be broken. Fingers crossed.
